Dominate YouTube for Your Local Business

It's ironic that in a culture that loves to fast forward through commercials, the first sites viewed after an Internet search are often video-based commercials. YouTube can be a powerful source of advertising for small and medium-sized businesses as long as it's done utilizing best Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices. Best of all, it's completely free. Here are some tips on how to use local search marketing to dominate YouTube with PR for your local business. Tips For Using YouTube For Local Search Marketing 1) Do Your Homework If you aren't already familiar with SEO practices, it's important to learn the nuts and bolts for all of your local Internet marketing. The first step is to learn what people are searching. Do your keyword, and long-tail keyword, research so that you can figure out which types of videos will be the easiest for people to find, watch, and potentially share. Remember: what people are searching for in YouTube is different than what they’re searching for in Google (although YouTube is the second largest search engine around!!), so remember that when doing your research. YouTube itself has a great keyword research tool you can use, and I also love Soovle.com because you can do your keyword research across many different platforms at the same time. 2) Create Amazing Content Based on your keyword research, you will need to decide what content will be the most appealing to potential viewers. Perhaps branding isn't as important as marketing specific products, or visa versa. Spend a little extra money to make sure you have professional and engaging material that will entice people to share your videos via Facebook and Twitter. 3) Create a Company YouTube Channel Your company can create its own YouTube channel. Give it an engaging profile, allow people to share your channel using social media, and offer subscriptions so potential customers are notified when you post new content.  Then analyze the data. You can see who is searching, where they are searching from, and all kinds of useful information that will allow you to continually produce problem-solution based content that people are looking for. 4.) Utilize Best SEO Practices for Titles, Meta Descriptions, Tags, Etc. Notice the repetition of SEO? That's because search engines use mathematical algorithms to help them find relevant information for individual searches. If you don't play by their rules, it's impossible to show up in the first few pages of a search. If Google is King, YouTube is Queen. By dominating YouTube, your company’s visibility will translate into leads and sales. Questions? Leave them down in the Comments section.
